Citizenship Calculator
Citizenship Calculator
Becoming a Canadian citizen is a major milestone for permanent residents. To apply, you must meet certain residency and eligibility requirements. Our Canada Citizenship Calculator helps you quickly check if you’ve accumulated enough physical presence days and meet all conditions for citizenship.
Use this tool to estimate your citizenship eligibility date and plan your application with confidence.
Please note every day of physical presence as a Temporary Resident
or Protected Person
counts as a 0.5 day credit and you cannot be credited for any more
than 365 days of
Temporary Residence or time as a Protected Person. Therefore, in
order to get the maximum
365 day credit you need to be physically present in Canada as a
Temporary Resident or
Protected Person for 730 or more days during your eligibility
period.
Only the five (5) years immediately before the date of your
application are considered for calculating the physical presence
requirement.
Day trips, i.e., absences where you left Canada and came back on the same day must be declared.

You (and some minors, if applicable) must have been physically in Canada for at least 1,095 days (3 years) during the 5 years before the date you sign your application.
